The Stanley Room is located on the first floor of the Historical Wing and is named after Sir Henry Morton Stanley (born John Rowlands 1841 – 1904), a journalist and explorer who was famous for his exploration of central Africa and his search for David Livingstone. He was knighted in 1899.

The Stanley Room is located on the second floor of the Historical Wing and has a beautiful view overlooking the zoo's garden and flamingos.
