The Okapi Rooms are located on the ground floor of the Carnot Wing.
The Carnot Wing has 3 floors: the ground floor, the first floor and the second floor. The rooms on the ground floor are named after an animal that lives on the ground; the endangered okapi. The okapi is an essential part of the ZOO’s history. The Antwerp ZOO was the first ZOO in the world to have one on display.
The rooms on the first floor are the Gorilla Rooms. The Gorilla is an important animal for our venue, as the ZOO’s silverback Matadi is our icon for instant corporate social responsibility (Instant CSR).
All rooms on the second floor are named after birds.
