The Nightingale Rooms are located on the second floor of the Carnot Wing. They are situated right next to the Peacock Room, Toucan Room and Pelican Room. The Carnot Wing has 3 floors: the ground floor, the first floor and the second floor. All rooms on the second floor are named after birds.
The rooms on the ground floor of the Carnot Wing are named the endangered okapi. The okapi is an essential part of the ZOO’s history. The Antwerp ZOO was the first ZOO in the world to have one on display.
The rooms on the first floor are the Gorilla Rooms. The Gorilla is an important animal for our venue, as the ZOO’s silverback Matadi is our icon for instant corporate social responsibility (Instant CSR).
