The Butterfly Hall is located on the second floor of the Historical Wing and is adjacent to the Winter Garden, where during Spring and Summer you can walk among hundreds of butterflies.
When you walk up the big marble steps of the Verlat Hall, you come face to face with the impressive skeleton of elephant Jacqueline. Jacqueline was the ZOO’s very first elephant and an important part of our legacy. She arrived from Birma (now Myanmar) in 1852 and lived in the Egyptian Temple. She passed away in 1880 and here skeleton was first kept in our former museum. Later on she moved back to the Egyptian Temple and now she resides in the Butterfly Hall, which was in fact part of our former museum.
In the Butterfly Hall, you can truly enjoy the benefits of a conference at A Room with a ZOO.
