OMconference was launched in 2018. Since then, the event has attracted around 1,000 marketing decision-makers each year for a day of inspiration, innovation and networking opportunities.
The purpose
The idea behind OMconference is to immerse the marketing decision-maker in a full day of inspiring stories from other marketing decision-makers, provide new strategic insights from inspiring speakers and showcase real-world experiences from experts.
Partners & speakers
OMconference cannot be made a reality without its partners. Close cooperation with all of our partners is a crucial aspect and the choice of partners is carefully considered too. They are all companies which marketing decision-makers will encounter in their day-to-day life.
Therefore, the common thread in our approach is quality. The attendee's experience is central both in selecting the right speakers and partners and in organising the event. Everyone is sacrificing a day of work so we feel it is our duty to make sure everyone goes home feeling good and with tons of inspiration.
Theme
The event is dedicated to one theme each year. In 2018, this was 'Hitch your marketing', which drew a clear parallel between dating and marketing. In 2019, we went with a religious angle on 'Preaching Customer Love', while we opted for 'Magical Marketing' in 2021.
For 2022, we wanted to highlight the importance of sustainable marketing. As a company or brand, you want to be profitable, because how else can you survive in a highly competitive market and invest in the future? But it's not just the targets to be achieved that map out or determine the way forward. In recent years, we have seen a noticeable shift toward more sustainable marketing. The often alarming impact of business on society and the environment calls for a different approach. As a brand, you can't avoid it, and as marketing decision-makers, we play a very important role in this towards our brand and our customers. The process begins with translating business objectives into an ambitious, achievable and sustainable marketing strategy.
But what actually is sustainable marketing? Is it about a sustainable product range? Or how to use our marketing resources more sustainably? What exactly sustainable marketing is and how experts and brands approach it was revealed on Monday 26 September 2022 during the 4th edition of OMconference, including strategy talks by Rik Vera, Christophe Jauquet, Wim Vermeulen, Heleen Buldeo Rai, Reinout Van Zandycke, Stefaan Vandist, Joke Claessen, and Herman Toch. Cases were explained by Colruyt Group, O2O Bicycle Leasing, Too Good To Go, A.S.Adventure, Bolt, and Go Forest.
OMconference is also the first CO2 neutral marketing congress in Belgium.
